2. Exit Signs and Emergency Lights

  • Regularly check all exit signs and emergency lights for proper functionality.

  • Ensure that exit lights are continuously lit 24 hours a day.

3. Plumbing Systems

  • Thoroughly inspect bathroom plumbing systems to ensure proper operation.

  • Perform necessary repairs or replacements as needed.

  • Evaluate and maintain kitchen plumbing systems and fixtures.

4. Heating System

  • Verify the heating system's condition.

  • Keep grills and filters clean and functioning optimally.

5. Structural Integrity

  • Monitor the church building for any structural defects.

  • Promptly address minor repairs and report significant issues to the Church administrator.

6. Landscape Maintenance

  • Maintain the church landscape, including regular grass mowing, tree branch trimming, and plant watering.

7. Custodial Duties

  • The church custodian will oversee the cleanliness of all publicly accessible areas within the church.

  • Prepare these areas for use by other staff members and the congregation.

8. Security and Safety

  • Be responsible for the security and safety of the premises and their contents during duty hours.

  • Maintain a well-presented and well-repaired environment.

  • Ensure equipment is in good working order and collaborate with contractors as needed.

9. Safety and Emergency Procedures

  • Maintain all areas accessible to staff, visitors, and contractors in a safe manner.

  • Report any hazards or defects promptly to the Senior Pastor or Church administrator.

  • Possess knowledge of the location and proper use of fire-fighting equipment in emergencies.

  • Be well-versed in emergency procedures, including building evacuation and contact routines.

  • Regularly inspect fire safety equipment, including the fire alarm system.
